country road take me home

I’ve just arrived back in camp after some extensive travelling. I thought my readers might like to see a glimpse of what the 5 hour journey is like… there are repairs being made to most of the main highway that I use between here and Nairobi.

Deviations are for deviants, I hope you just ploughed on through.

Well, yes. Semantics does occupy my mind for much of the journey. Couldn’t help wondering what the difference might be between a deviation and a diversion. Is one road anti-social and the other just pleasantly entertaining? this one is the former. If there was such a thing as reckless road building I think some jua kali fundi should get charged.
on an unrelated note, has someone donated more solar gear for your setup? this seems way past the time of night when your electricity ration runs out…

No solar. It’s looks like World Vision wanted to save some money this year and have they decided to hold a week long conference at the Serena, which means we have electricity all week as they are full up until Friday.
Has Asuka cooked you some brownies yet?

The road is not paved, or it’s just under construction? I like “deviation” much better than our boring “detour.” It sounds like more fun.
